Hydra (the end is swallowed up by the beginning) is an installation composed of several sculpted objects and found material, depicting a decomposing chain of events. The installation invites also non-human participants to bring the work to life; small living insects such as houseflies and spiders lurks among the oyster mushrooms and the Venus flytrap.

Objects in the installation seek to influence one another in subtle and indirect ways, not only mechanically and visibly. Processes of growth and decay performs a central slow performance in the installation, which can be seen as the main forces connecting death, life and the endless flux of matter.
This work was supported by Satakunnan kulttuurisäätiö & Alfred Kordelin foundation.
